I am looking for any information/photos on my grandfather, Wayne A. Wittgren from Stromsburg, NE. He passed away when I was 5 and I didn't get to ask him any questions. The little bit that I know was that he would relay information to and from the front line, he had to lay in a rice field for many hours, and he was wounded and still had shrapnel in his leg when he passed away. Any info would be awesome!!
Thanks

Daniel Seely

I am curious about what information you may know about my grandfather Donald A Seely who was wounded in the Bulge. He is alive and well at the age of 85.

I hav e some correspondence that my stepfather wrote in 1945 and wanted to know if anyone was interested in having them. His name, S/Sgt. Harold T. Rogers, 39460017, Hq. Co., 3rd Bn., 335th Inf. 84th Div.

My grandfather, Tech 5 Robert Durling was in the 84th reconnaissance troop mechanized and died 28 Nov 1944, the day after my mom was born. I am trying to find out information as to where he was exactly when he died and hopefully find someone who might have know him and what he was like. My mom knows nothing about him except what I have been able to find out on the internet, which isn't much. There isn't a whole lot of information on the 84th recon troop mech that I can find. I was told he drove a half track, but not sure if that is true. I would appreciate anything I can find out here, Thank you.

My father, Kirby Deer (84th E335), was severely wounded in the battle for Toad Hill on Nov 30, 1944. Can someone provide information as to what would be the sequence of events in treating a wounded solder, where he would have been taken first when he was finally evacuated, where surgery was preformed and finally, how/when he would have made it to England. He told us about the medic (no name) who saved his life, but didn’t share anything else until he was strapped into a plane leaving England in March, 1945 for the USA and LaGarde Hospital in New Orleans, La,. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Mark Miller: Thank you for posting the link to the CRIBA website and Mr. Mahler's Memorial Address. What an interesting and amazing personal story!

In case this memorial address to the citizens of Belgium by Art Mahler (334 E) has not been mentioned on the board, here's a link with it on the CRIBA website:

William Newton McCrosky was from Kentucky. My fiance is the half-nephew of William Newton McCrosky. My fiance's father, William Donald McCrosky, was born in 1945 and named William in honor of his missing half-brother. Wm. Donald recently passed away; however I can put you in with Richard, his nephew who, I believe, has more information.

I am trying find out any information about my Grandfather that someone who served with the 84th may know. His name was Stanley Nartowicz. He entered the Army in Mar of 1941 and was discharged in Oct of 45. He entered as a private and left the service as a First Sergeant. He served as a Rifleman and Light Weapons NCO. He was awarded the Bronze Star. Since he never spoke much about his time in Europe I've never really got to hear about his time there or the men he served with. If anyone knew him and could share some stories they would be greatly appreciated. Please reply to my email address posted.

I was hoping you could provide any kind of information on my Grandpa, Harold "Andy" Statz. He never really talked about his experiences other than he was a Railsplitter and went on night reconnaissance missions. He was awarded a Puple Heart and I think he won another medal of some kind. Any information would be very appreciated.

Hello,
We are looking for information about Pvt. Frank PAPA, a member of the 84th Division, 335th Infantry, Company H during the Battle of the Bulge. He stayed by my grandmother during winter 44-45, in a small village of Ardennes, named Werpin (Hotton).

Is there any list of members of this division available on the web ?

Thank you in advance for any information.

Best regards.

Not sure if you are aware of this video (its very new)?

The 84th can be seen eating at a field cookhouse (which was in Bad Salzufeln) on 5 April. There are some clear shots of the Divisional MPs at 28:34. I have a feeling that not all of the film stock is of 84th Inf Div but some patches can clearly be seen at certain points. Maybe its interesting for anyone researching relatives.
